About Our Baseball Bats
Phoenix Bats has been crafting wood bats since 1996 outside of Columbus, Ohio. Since 2000, our baseball bats have been approved for pro-players. Phoenix Bats starts by only purchasing pro-grade wood to deliver a quality bat to you and pros alike. Our bats are made from only American top-grade hardwoods, in three types of wood: maple, birch, and ash.
What type of wood is best for baseball
- Maple - The strongest wood that provides the most pop and used by the most pros. It’s best for those who miss-hit further down the barrel, towards the middle of a wood bat.
- Ash - Has the longest sweet spot and ideal for those that miss-hit off ends. Allows for more flex but not as dense/strong.
- Birch - A good choice for wood bat newbies with a similar performance to maple. Good for players that miss-hit all over the bat.

Choosing the right model is key to a strong baseball performance. Phoenix Bats offers default drop-weights for single/contact, gap/extra base and power hitters. With the difference between a singles hitter and home run hitter only being 1 ounce, a properly weighted bat is critical to success. There are options to customize your drop-weight and length, if needed, to make the perfect baseball bat you need.

To ensure consistency, all Phoenix bats are spun and sanded on the most advanced bat-making machine in the world. If you love your initial bat, our manufacturing process creates that same look and feel — every time.
The last step is to personalize your bat with free text engraving, your choice of barrel color and handle color. Take it to the next level by adding your signature or choose a custom logo or image as long as it is not trademarked.
