The MT27 is a duplicate of the wood baseball bat used by Angels outfielder and one of the best young players in the game. It features a long, compact diameter barrel with a sharp taper into a thin handle. Such a wooden bat design yields a ton of whip through the hitting zone. Being that the MT27 is cut from higher dense wood than most professional models (unusual for a power hitter's bat due to design limitations), it is more durable than most pro power hitter's bats. The ball will be flying all over the yard as more energy gets transferred from the bat to the ball.
The MT27 comes with a standard style knob with barely any flare from the handle in to it. For bat model comparison, think of a modified 243 profile with a smaller diameter barrel and a little less, but still very noticeable, barrel weight.
MT27 Wood Bat Stats:
Barrel: 2-1/2" smaller diameter but long for more sweet spot and whip
Handle: 29/32" small diameter, sharp taper from the barrel
Knob: barely any flare from handle into a knob to rest your hand on
Weight: -3 drop (length - 3 = weight in ounces), end-weighted
Comparable competitor model: MT27 (a modified 243 profile)
Power guy wants more bat speed, pop & durability but trades the most barrel & handle diameter to get it.
Hitter who wants to overlap hand around the handle, resting his hand on the bat's knob.
