The CU26 professional player wood baseball bat is modeled after the bat swung by Chase Utley of the Phillies. It is considered a gap-to-power hitter's bat for the player who hit's for average but is not necessarily the proto-typical power guy.
This wood bat features a fairly thick barrel that quickly starts to taper down towards the handle, like our B455 wooden bat. This makes the CU26 unlike most power hitters' wood bats as it doesn't have a real pronounced barrel.
The handle thickness of the CU26 pro model falls in-between a thin handled wood bat and a thick handled wood bat. It would be most comparable to Phoenix's NP13 wood bat from our "Popular Game Bat" series.
The handle tapers fairly moderately in to a knob that is not very pronounced. This style of wooden bat knob makes it a good choice for the player who likes his hand to rest of the knob, but not have it be of noticeable feel.
CU26 wood bat stats:
Just over 2-1/2" diameter barrel that tapers quickly
Just over 15/16" handle
-2 drop (length - drop = weight in ounces)
Cupped
Typical user:
Gap-to-power hitter who hits for high average over all power
With the minimal knob, this is one for the player who wants just enough knob to catch his hand on.
Due to the more limited availability of the wood billets (the tubes of wood we make bats from) to make this bat, we are unable to offer the Phoenix Money Back Guarantee on the CU26 wooden bat.
No matter which Phoenix wood baseball bat you go with, our belief is simple: every player, at every level...not just our pros...deserves a quality wood bat.
