What makes a composite different?

Made of North American maple hardwoods throughout, this wood composite bat gives the player real wood performance with extra durability. It’s as close to a single piece wood bat as you can get. Some competitors’ wood composite bats use a metal rod down the middle, a metal handle, or synthetics for reinforcement. These all alter the performance characteristics, making those bats questionable as being a fair/comparable choice to single piece wood bats. We chose to keep it real…and are proud to offer a wood bat that, like all Phoenix Bats, is made in the USA from all-American materials.

By taking multiple pieces of wood and gluing them together with a special adhesive, Phoenix Bats wood composite bat is able to better handle mis-hits that normally break single piece bats. While no wood bat is impervious to breaking, Phoenix's new all-wood composite gives extra protection from the inside pitches that jam the hitter, often cracking an ash bat, and from the outside pitches that cue-ball off the end of a maple bat, causing the head to snap off. With a perfect balance of flex and rigidity, allowing shock absorption without denying power.
