The R5 budget wood baseball bat is a great fit for the contact or gap hitter who is looking to save a few bucks. As a gamer or for practice, the R5 wood bat offers a moderate sized barrel that forces you to hit the sweet spot more often.

Interestingly enough, the player who brought this model to our attention was a power hitter. But the barrel design and nice balance states otherwise. The R5 is similar to our JK5 contact hitter's baseball bat in that it features a straighter traditional handle. Having a shorter barrel that tapers quickly in to the handle allows you to whip it through the zone when Mr Nasty is on the mound. And, in using the weight of billet (the tube of wood we craft a bat from) we do, the players gets some nice durability at a very manageable -3 weight.

While you give up some of the bells and whistles that come with our made-to-order game bats, you don't sacrifice on quality with a Phoenix budget wood bat. The R5 is a first run wood bat...just like our other baseball bats.
